The “green movement”, which is a collaborative effort to promote and sustain a healthy environment, has affected many aspects of life to include pet products. Today, eco friendly pet products are easy to find, more affordable than even a year before, and they are actually healthier for the animal. Therefore, when choosing eco friendly pet products, the health of the environment as well as the pet is the focus. 

Although many different pet products are now eco friendly, we have seen a huge change specific to pet food. For years, cat and dog food was made with processed ingredients that made the animal feel full but only provided a small amount of nutrition. Today, natural pet food is extremely popular. While the cost of “organic” food is higher than low quality food, it is well worth the money.

• Stain Remover – For the owner of a new puppy or kitten, stains happen. However, a number of eco friendly pet products are available that are non-toxic and made with natural enzymes that help to break down components of stains and dissolve them along with odor. 

• Dog Treats – All types of dog treats are now made with organic ingredients. For instance, a baked dog cookie might be made with organic whole grain brown rice, organic carrots, organic whole grain wheat, and other natural ingredients that are delicious but also easy on the pet’s digestive system 

• Pet Shampoo – Even pet shampoo is now made as an eco friendly solution. Pet owners could choose from many formulas but a favorite choice is made with various herbal extracts and coconut oil soap, which soothes the skin, creates shiny fur, and smells wonderful.
